Altough I am a bookworm and will be all my life, exept for vacation, I don´t intend to read that much in Summer. Actually I don´t know why, because I love reading so much! But the moment the temperature drops below the 20C°, I have a pile of books beside my bedside table, joined by a scented candle and a big mug of tea and then the beaming into another world starts. Especially crimis are my must-read for Autumn. Sometimes my parents even sent someone searching for me, because I was like a very rare sort of animal, which was never ever seen again. But let´s be honest, it doesn´t get any better right? So therefore I have collected my absolute favourite reads for stormy autumn afternoons.
1.Harry Potter by J.K.Rowling
Let´s start with a classic (and my all time favourite book by far). Every Autumn I Whip out at least three of them and read them in the least amount of time. Especially the first one warms my heart every time I read it. It´s just the best! And if you are lucky enough and haven´t read Harry Potter ( I am really jealous of you because in your life there is going to be some Magic happenen`!). Also if you like J.K.Rowlings style of writing, but are not in the whole fantasy kind of stuff , her pseudonym Robert Galbraith published a crime series which is out of this world and got made into a series on BBC recently.
2.The Girl who takes an eye for an eye by David Lagercrantz
Lisbeth is back! I was so excited when I saw this at the Airport in London! I loved the milenium triology and altough some people say that he didn´t do a good Job, I actually really like David Langercrantz´s style of writing and I think he did a pretty good Job in keeping Lisbeth and Mikael alive.
Lisbeth Salander is an unstoppable force: Sentenced to two months in Flodberga women’s prison for saving a young boy’s life by any means necessary, Salander refuses to say anything in her own defence. She has more important things on her mind.
Mikael Blomkvist makes the long trip to visit every week – and receives a lead to follow for his pains. For him, it looks to be an important expose for Millennium. For her, it could unlock the facts of her childhood.
Even from a corrupt prison system run largely by the inmates, Salander will stand up for what she believes in, whatever the cost. And she will seek the truth that is somehow connected with her childhood memory, of a woman with a blazing birthmark on her neck – that looked as if it had been burned by a dragon’s fire . . .
The tension, power and unstoppable force of The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye are inspired by Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy, as Salander and Blomkvist continue the fight for justice that has thrilled millions of readers across the world.
3.Eat Smart by Niomi Smart
Since I went to London last year I was considering buying this book, because the recipes were very appealing, healthy and I love Niomi. Actually I didn´t end up buying it because my suitcase was rather heavy and rather full. As it is in life I forgot to buy the book when I was in London this year. Therefore I was really really happy to see it in our local bookshop. Lucky me! I recommend not doing the same mistake as I did and buy this book straight away if you love healthy food!
Niomi Smart’s passion is healthy food and her most popular YouTube video series, What I Eat in a Day, inspires a global audience of millions to look, live and feel better.
