DIY: Lucky Pigs

Since the New Year has begun, I thought I share a little DIY with you, you can make for friends and family to wish them luck for the new year. These little sewed pigs are very easy but a nice gift to give to people to show them that you are thinking about them.

You will need:

  • a piece of fabric
  • the pig pattern
  • matching yarn
  • some wool for the stuffing
  • a scissor
  • a sewing machine
  • black yarn

You can download the pattern here.

First you want to print out the pattern. I used the body, the belly and the ears but no nose. Fold your fabric so you have to layers, then draw on the body and the ears. The belly with the feet on a single fabric. First sew the body until the feets and the ears, but leave the bottom open. Then sew the feets to the body and leave the belly open to fill. Turn the pig on the right sight and start to fill it. First you want to fill the nose and the feets and then the body. Sew the belly by hand. Then sew on the ears where you want them to be. You can sew them up or down how you like. Then take the black yarn and sew two eyes. To give the pigs a little blush you can rub some red pencil on a piece of fabric and then blush the pigs a little bit.

As you can see on the pictures I sewed in a pieces of ribbon with a little mushroom, just sew them in when you sew the body.

I wish you a happy new year,

Love, Sophie
