RECIPE: Autumn Crumble

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Finally, Summer has moved his “hot ass” out of my way and made space for the best time of the year, which are definitely the months from October to February, without doubt! I mean golden leaves, Christmas, lots of cozy evenings with tea and blankets, my birthday of course, Christmas markets, mulled wine, seeing the family…. yes I could go on for some hours, but I need something for the next posts right! 😛 However, I loovvveee Autumn so much and I also love the tastes and spices that come with it. Funny enough, my family has the Autumn tradition of making apple crumble only in Autumn, so some days ago I baked some with apples and plums and it was so delicious that I had to share the recipe with you. It is so easy to make, but so delicious and maybe even a cheeky little Sunday breakfast with some yoghurt! So yummy!

You will need:

x 1kg plums
x 5 Apples
x 1 stick of cinnamon
x 100g sugar
x 200g oats
x 300g flour
x 200g butter

  1. Remove the stone out of the plums, and cut them into four pieces. Also cut the apples in small pieces. Heat some butter in a pan and fry the fruit for some minutes, then add some water on top and cook for some minutes until the fruit starts to soften. Remove it from the heat and let it rest.
  2. Preheat your oven to 190 C°. In a bowl mix together the butter, sugar, oats, and flour and kneat until you have some crumbs. Put the fruit in an ovenproof casserole. Sprinkle the crumbs on top and bake for 30 minutes.
  3. Enjoy with some fresh cream, yoghurt or a dollop of mascarpone.
