Some weeks ago my family and I visited the carnival in Venice and I have some impressions to show you. We went there on the second Saturday during the carnival week and I have to say, I think that was the last time that I went there on the second weekend, because it is the main weekend and there were so many people it was unbelievable. We went there often on the second weekend, but it was never that packed as some weeks ago. There were parts where we were not able to move for 5 minutes or more, because the streets are so narrow and small and too many people wanted to go through. My tip for you is that you avoid the main streets to the Rialto Bridge or San Marco. You can also enter San Marco through the not so crowded parts of Venice, which are very nice and offer some great unseen spots of the city. Since we have a little routine when we go to Venice, you can read it here. Especially the bakery “Majer” is always worth a visit.
